our story

From the moment I began teaching at sixteen, I knew I would teach music for the rest of my life. I found what I loved to do.

When creating Imagine Music Inc. in 1994, I listened to many of my clients. They wanted to play music for fun, improvise or change music to make it their own. This kind of music school didn’t exist in Calgary until we opened for business.

Hiring creative and passionate teachers who understand their client’s unique needs is the first step in how I match each student with their ideal coach.

By avoiding a store front music studio, Imagine Music is able to offer lessons in clients’ homes and in teachers’ home studios for a more personalized and convenient learning environment.

Twenty-five years later, we are still offering this customized service!

Isla Playing The Greatest Showman Medley While In isolation Due to Covid-19

Isla learned the Greatest Showman Medley while in isolation due to Covid-19. She was preparing for our Movie Mystery Music  – a Zoom Recital.  This is a short clip of a 9 page advanced piano arrangement by Constantino Carrara.

Conrad Playing Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word by Elton John

Conrad was preparing for a Conservatory Canada Level 7 Piano Exam and learned this song while in isolation due to Covid-19.

Only amazing things to say about Imagine Music! Both my brother and I were students at Imagine Music for over 12 years (in guitar, voice and piano lessons). I was fortunate enough to have the company’s owner, Jennifer as my teacher for a big chunk of that. She is one of the most patient, kind and knowledgeable teachers I have ever met.
