Valentin, a voice and theory teacher is a RCM voice gold medal winner! He has many credentials to teach classical voice or musical theatre styles.
The Romanian-born Tenor, Valentin, holds an Associate Diploma (with Distinction) from Trinity Guildhall College (London, UK) as well as an Advanced Voice Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music (2015 Alberta Gold Medalist). He has studied at the Romanian National Opera of Iasi Intensive Program, AIMS International Music School (Eastbourne, UK), Opera NUOVA, as well as Cowtown Opera Summer Academy.
His performing engagements include King Ahasuerus (Handel, Esther) with Grande Prairie Opera, Tenor Soloist with Calgary Concert Opera Company, as well as Cowtown Opera, Tenor Soloist (Handel, Messiah) with VoiceScapes Chamber Orchestra, Nemorino (Donizetti, L’Elisir D’Amore) with Cowtown Opera Summer Academy, The Lover (Menotti, Amelia goes to the ball), as well as Mr. Angel (Mozart, Impresario) with Opera Nuova. Additionally, Valentin has participated in various Calgarian Social Events, such as ‘Mrs. Calgary’ Christmas Charity Gala, Calgary European Film Festival Gala, Musical Extravaganza and Calgary Heritage Festival, to name a few.
Valentin was a National Finalist in the Canadian Music Competition (CMC-Canimex, 2016) as well as a winner in the ‘Unsigned-Only World Music Competition’ (Vocal Performance, 2015), and ‘George Grigoriu International Music Contest’ (Romania, 2014).
Valentin’s musical approach to teaching is based on the following pillars:
- The core principles of vocal production which represent the musical foundation of an aspiring singer.
- The clear understanding of the musical message and style, coupled with the delivery of the poetic text with poise, expressiveness, and secure lyric diction.
- The integration of holistic elements into the art of musical performing.
