Music Theory helps enhance a students playing ability by teaching them the “math” behind the music. Theory helps musicians to develop new ideas about the performance of music, and helps them to make sense of what they’re playing. For students planning on completing Royal Conservatory of Music Exams, Theory will be required in the higher grades.
