To kick off the new year, Imagine Music Inc. is excited to host it’s first “YouTube Video Project”! Students are given the opportunity to submit a musically related video to the Imagine Music Inc. office by April 04, 2014. Once approved, it will be posted on our YouTube website, making your child a “YouTube Superstar”!
We love to see creativity in the project! For those of you who are unsure about what to post, here are some neat ideas we’d love to share:
TUTORIALS / HOW-TO
With the internet being so accessible, we’re sure everyone has looked online for instructions and how-to videos. What better way to show your music knowledge then to teach others what you have learned!
Here is an example of a music tutorial video we thought was fun and engaging!
“SHOW US WHAT YOU’RE PLAYING”
Everyone has sat through music recitals and performances and although watching the player’s facial expression and overall demeanor is interesting, watching a student’s finger could be just as entertaining!
Check out this video of Dan Pappas playing Cinema!
What an interesting idea of watching the player’s fingers move as it goes up and down the piano and the precise pedaling!
SIMPLE IS KEY
There are so many different types of videos out there, simple is sometimes the best way of expressing your music.
Our next video is a simple slideshow that just has a nice recording of the song and some pictures to go along with it:
Check out our own students singing at the Jingle Jam Recital Intermission! Rather than having a video of the three girls singing, we just found a good picture taken of their performance and played the music in the background.
Other Videos we thought were fun and interesting:
Multi-Frame Video: Robbie Williams – Feel (piano & bass cover)
Mashups/Medleys: Mashup Piano (Michael Jackson, Eminem, Coldplay, Avicii …)
Home videos with student’s music in the background
